GridPaper Raises $7.2M Seed to Ship Collaborative AR Whiteboard Hardware

GridPaper's device uses ceiling-mounted depth sensors and a tabletop projection module to create anchored AR canvases that persist between meetings. Users can interact with the canvas through touch, stylus, or their phones, and the system syncs canvases to cloud workspaces for later edits.

The seed round was led by Spatial Ventures with participation from design-focused angels. Capital will be used for pilot programs, enterprise integrations, and improving markerless hand and object recognition to make interactions feel natural.

Pilot customers highlighted reduced context-switching when moving from whiteboard to digital artifact and noted improvements in remote participant parity. GridPaper positions the product as a bridge between whiteboarding spontaneity and the permanence of digital artifacts for design teams.
