GridScale Introduces Edge AI Appliance for Retail, Raises $30M Series A

GridScale’s appliance processes camera feeds in-store to deliver anonymized insights—traffic flows, shelf health, and queue length—without transmitting raw video to the cloud. The device offers model management, on-device retraining with consented samples, and design-friendly dashboards for merchandising teams.

The $30 million Series A was led by Pacific Ridge Capital and included investments from retail-focused growth funds. GridScale will use the funding to grow its field engineering team and certify integrations with popular retail platforms and POS systems.

Early customers reported real-time insights that improved shelf replenishment and promoted faster in-store experiment cycles. GridScale emphasizes privacy-preserving defaults and audit logs to help retailers meet regional regulatory requirements while extracting operational value.
