GroundControl Raises $60M to Build Autonomous Drone Logistics Network

GroundControl's Series B, led by Fieldstone Capital, will fund regional hubs, fleet procurement, and regulatory compliance efforts across three U.S. states. The startup has been running pilot routes with pharmacies and grocery chains to validate safety and routing algorithms.

The company’s key product is a modular drone with swappable payload bays and a software stack that coordinates airspace, ground handoffs, and landing-site verification using computer vision. GroundControl claims higher on-time fulfillment rates than ground couriers for suburban deliveries under 10 miles.

Operational scaling remains the challenge: GroundControl will deploy human-in-the-loop supervision centers and invest in UX research to smooth handoff experiences for recipients. The funding also supports partnerships with municipal stakeholders to integrate drone corridors into local planning.
