HapticDream raises $18M and ships WavePad, a modular tactile SDK for mobile games

HapticDream today announced WavePad, an SDK that unlocks fine-grained haptic expressions using both amplitude and waveform synthesis tailored to device drivers. Game teams can script layered tactile patterns tied to in-game events and feel consistent across a range of phones and controllers. WavePad includes a visual authoring tool for sound designers and haptic artists to preview effects without code.
The product release coincided with an $18 million Series A led by Makers Fund, intended to help the company build console and PC middleware versions and a cloud-based asset store for shared haptic libraries. HapticDream emphasized partnerships with several indie studios that used WavePad during beta to enhance immersion in narrative sequences.
Developers reported increased player engagement metrics and stronger emotional resonance in scenes where tactile feedback complemented audio and visual design. HapticDream plans to offer a freemium tier for indie studios and tailored licensing for large publishers.
