HapticHouse debuts Stage — a modular tactile SDK for immersive devices, raises $14M

HapticHouse announced Stage, a modular SDK and authoring suite that lets creators design, preview, and deploy tactile experiences across a wide range of devices. The company closed a $14 million Series A led by Sensory Capital and positioned Stage as a cross-platform layer that reduces fragmentation in haptic APIs.

Stage includes a visual timeline editor for mapping sensations to events, an adaptive layer that compensates for device actuator differences, and runtime telemetry to tune perceived intensity. HapticHouse demonstrated Stage powering nuanced feedback in a multiplayer VR game and a retail try-on experience where subtle cues improved perceived fabric realism.

Funding will expand device certification, add plugins for popular engines like Unity and Unreal, and open an online marketplace for author-created haptic patterns. The company expects Stage to accelerate adoption of richer tactile design in both gaming and enterprise XR.
