HelioCharge raises $95M to commercialize wireless EV chargers
Tech · 6 min read
HelioCharge's wireless charging tech promises up to 22 kW per pad with alignment-agnostic coupling and vehicle-to-pad communication to negotiate power delivery safely. The $95 million Series C, led by Red Oak Infrastructure, will fund factory expansion and safety certification testing.
The company highlights operational benefits for fleets: fast, automated top-ups in depots without cable handling, and reduced maintenance costs. HelioCharge also announced a pilot program with two logistics operators to test dynamic charging schedules synchronized to routes.
Regulatory and safety certifications remain the next hurdle; HelioCharge says it’s working with standards bodies and OEMs for vehicles compatible with the system. Commercial availability in selected markets is targeted for early 2027 pending certification.
