HelixBio announced $45 million in Series B funding led by BioScale Partners and launched HelixFlow, a platform that translates written or scanned lab protocols into automated workflows for liquid-handling robots. The product focuses on reducing bench time and human error in repetitive assays.
HelixFlow couples natural language understanding of protocols with a hardware abstraction layer to map steps to specific robotics platforms. The company also offers a simulation sandbox for running dry-runs and visualizing pipetting paths before execution.
Funds will support hardware partnerships, regulatory compliance for clinical labs, and scaling customer success for larger lab deployments. Early adopters include contract research organizations and university core facilities piloting genomics workflows.
