HoloStage raises $9M to ship low-latency live performance AR tools for concerts

HoloStage raised $9 million in seed funding to commercialize AR tools for live performances. The startup provides synchronized visual layers, performer-tracked effects, and audience-facing AR overlays that run with low-latency timing to match music cues.
Their system uses edge compute deployed at venues to handle camera feeds and performer tracking, with a lightweight client running on festival apps for attendees. HoloStage claims the setup enables coordinated effects like virtual confetti, stage-anchored visuals, and dynamic lyrics overlays visible through phones and AR glasses.
The company will pilot with festival promoters and theater productions this season, focusing on reliability and synchronized timing across tens of thousands of simultaneous viewers. HoloStage plans an SDK for VJs and stage designers to author effects without deep engineering.
