HoloType secures $22M to launch XR typography system for mixed-reality apps

HoloType announced $22 million in seed funding from design-focused investors to commercialize a typography system tailored for AR and MR UX. The system includes spatial anchoring, depth-aware sizing, and accessibility-driven contrast heuristics.

Their initial tooling lets designers preview type behavior under dynamic lighting, parallax, and occlusion scenarios. HoloType also provides exportable tokens and runtime SDKs for Unity and web XR APIs.

Design teams in enterprise XR trials reported fewer legibility regressions when moving from prototype to device. HoloType will use the funding to expand language support and device-specific optimizations.
