Humble Games’ acquisition of PixelForge secures several upcoming indie titles and effectively folds PixelForge’s development pipeline into Humble’s publishing arm. The acquisition aims to provide more predictable support for indie teams while boosting Humble’s exclusive content library.
The company also unveiled ForgePlay, a $6.99 monthly subscription that bundles PixelForge back catalog games, monthly DLC drops, and early-access betas. Humble closed a $25 million venture round to finance the subscription rollout, marketing, and developer grants.
Indie developers welcomed the funding and subscription model as an alternative to unpredictable storefronts, but some voiced concern about revenue splits and discoverability within the subscription. Humble says the program includes developer-friendly terms and a clear content roadmap.
