HyperPlay Announces ArcadeOS and Raises $25M to Scale Cloud Gaming Infrastructure

ArcadeOS targets companies building dedicated cloud-gaming appliances and smart TVs by providing a runtime optimized for streaming performance and minimal UI jitter. HyperPlay says the OS reduces input latency through a specialized networking stack and prioritizes video frame integrity.

The funding will be used to deploy edge nodes in new regions and to build developer tools that help studios integrate overlays, social features, and in-stream transactions. HyperPlay's roadmap includes certification programs for hardware partners and a set of UX guidelines for responsive controller mapping.

Designers working on cross-device controllers and streaming UX welcomed ArcadeOS as a way to standardize expectations for latency and input feedback. HyperPlay also announced a partnerships program to help indie developers bring low-bandwidth titles to streaming platforms quickly.
