A key finding is the progressive disclosure of complexity. Novice creators see big, friendly buttons for templates and trending audio, while repeat users encounter layered controls like curve-based speed ramps and timeline scrubbing. This split reduces cognitive load for new users while preserving power for professionals without separate entry points.

We also observed behavioral nudges that increase completion rates: auto-save points tied to clips, lightweight in-editor analytics, and a frictionless publish flow that pre-fills captions and recommends hashtags. For designers, the lesson is explicit—small scaffolding choices can change creator behavior more than headline features.
