InVision adds 'Audit Assistant' — an AI that scans prototypes for usability anti-patterns
Design · 5 min read
Audit Assistant analyzes prototype states and transition graphs to surface problems such as ambiguous touch targets, unexpected modal traps, and inconsistent navigation patterns. It assigns severity levels and proposes concrete remedies like increasing hit area, adding labels, or simplifying branching logic.
The assistant integrates with user testing feedback to correlate observed participant errors with prototype anti-patterns, helping teams triage fixes effectively. Designers can accept suggested fixes into the prototype or export them as issues to tracking tools.
InVision positioned the tool as a complement to human testing, intended to catch low-hanging UX issues before conducting expensive usability studies. Teams using Audit Assistant reported fewer basic usability problems slipping into user tests, allowing them to focus on higher-level research goals.
