InVision revamps Freehand with vector export and an AI alignment assistant
Design · 3 min read
The refreshed Freehand supports exporting sketches as clean SVGs with preserved layers and naming conventions, easing the path from whiteboard to prototype. The AI alignment assistant suggests grids, snap points, and consistent spacings in real time while collaborators sketch.
Freehand retains freeform brainstorming workflows but now includes constraints and structure modes that designers can toggle, helping teams lift high-fidelity deliverables from ideation sessions. The assistant also suggests iconography and quick placeholder assets that respect brand tokens when available.
InVision says the update is intended to shorten the loop between concept and execution and to reduce manual clean-up after ideation sessions. Teams reported fewer translation errors when moving sketches into componentized design files.
