Lagoon secures $10M seed to build a live-service mobile game studio with design-first tooling
Gaming · 4 min read
Lagoon's seed round, led by Harbor Seed, funds a studio model that emphasizes rapid A/B testing loops and designer-accessible live ops tools. The studio will develop a pipeline of mid-core mobile games with in-house telemetry and content iteration systems aimed at maximizing player engagement.
Lagoon is building a suite for designers that abstracts live tuning variables into visual dashboards and campaign builders, reducing reliance on engineers for minor balance changes. The approach promises faster experiments and clearer attribution of design changes to retention metrics.
The studio's first title is in closed alpha and showcases modular event systems, designer-driven economy tuning, and a narrative-first design ethos. Lagoon plans public beta later this year and expects to use part of the new capital to expand its analytics and creative teams.
