LayerWorks raises $18M to scale its generative icon and component marketplace
Design · 4 min read
LayerWorks builds a marketplace for reusable UI components and icons, with a twist: every asset can be instantly customized by an AI stylist. Buyers pick a base component, set parameters like brand tone and accessibility targets, and LayerWorks generates variants tuned to those constraints.
The fresh capital will go toward beefing up the platform’s design intelligence, including contrast-aware colorization, RTL and size-adaptive components, and plugins for major design tools and code frameworks. LayerWorks also plans to launch a team management layer for governance and version control.
Investors say LayerWorks sits at the intersection of designOps and AI-driven content marketplaces, a space growing as companies standardize their component systems across platforms. The startup reports growing demand from e-commerce and enterprise UX teams.
