Liminal Labs, a six-year-old AI startup focused on multimodal reasoning, announced a $120 million Series B led by Horizon Capital with participation from existing backers and two strategic cloud partners. The capital will be used to scale inference infrastructure, accelerate product integrations, and expand enterprise sales across healthcare, legal, and manufacturing verticals.
The company says its flagship model, Liminal-XL, combines vision, audio, and structured data reasoning to power tasks like automated inspection, compliance review, and multimodal search. Liminal emphasized investments in latency reductions, on-premise deployment options, and explainability layers aimed at regulated customers.
Executives told SatisfiedUser they will earmark funds for partnerships with data providers and for building a compliance suite that logs model decisions for audit trails. The new round positions Liminal to compete with larger incumbents by offering a composable multimodal stack tailored to enterprise workflows.
