LumaAI Raises $75M Series B and Launches Real-time Video Composer for Designers

LumaAI has closed a $75 million Series B led by Highland Vision with participation from existing backers and several strategic design firms. The round positions LumaAI to scale infrastructure and expand its creative partnerships, the company said in a press release.
At the same time, LumaAI launched Composer, a browser-based real-time video composition tool that combines diffusion-based background generation with temporal consistency models. Composer integrates with common design workflows—Figma, After Effects, and Miro—letting teams create motion prototypes and iterate on transitions without exporting to heavy desktop apps.
Early adopters say Composer slashes the typical feedback loop for motion design. LumaAI is also offering an enterprise tier with collaborative timelines, versioning, and an API for embedding Composer into product design platforms. The company emphasized responsible AI guards—watermarks on early outputs and usage controls for copyrighted assets.
Analysts see the move as part of a larger trend: AI tooling targeting creative professionals rather than consumers. With fresh capital and a product tailored to design teams, LumaAI aims to become the go-to for rapid motion prototyping and pitch-ready video assets.
