LumaVision launches consumer mixed-reality headset and closes $200M strategic round

The new LumaVision headset features 140-degree passthrough, pancake optics with variable focus, and inside-out tracking with submillimeter hand tracking. Notably, the product ships with a spatial audio engine and a reduced weight profile for longer wear sessions.

LumaVision also unveiled a curated store for spatial apps—productivity tools, social spaces, and lightweight games—plus an SDK that supports Unity, Unreal, and native WebXR experiences. The company emphasized developer-friendly revenue splits and a discovery engine tuned for location-based experiences.

The $200 million round includes strategic investments from content studios and a consumer electronics conglomerate, and will be used to drive scale manufacturing, subsidize developer incentives, and grow content partnerships. LumaVision plans a consumer pre-order window next quarter with early developer kits available now.
