Lumen Labs launches Palette One: a hardware + software colorimeter for accurate displays

Palette One is a compact colorimeter that connects over USB-C and pairs with a web app to calibrate monitors, laptops, and mobile displays. Lumen Labs focuses on accessibility for designers who need consistent color across devices but lack expensive hardware.

The seed funding round of $9 million, led by StudioSeed and complemented by several design agency investors, will be used to expand production, add spectroradiometer-grade profiling for higher-tier customers, and build team management features.

Palette One’s cloud service securely stores calibrated profiles and allows teams to push profiles to managed devices. The system supports presets for print, digital advertising, and motion graphics, and includes a validation report to confirm calibration standards.

For design teams working across remote or distributed environments, Lumen positions Palette One as an affordable way to maintain color consistency without expensive on-site equipment. The company plans to release an API for integration with asset management and CI pipelines.
