Lumen XR launches 'LightSpace' headset with $120M Series C to scale production
Tech · 5 min read
LightSpace targets creative professionals with a focus on comfortable all-day wear and color-accurate passthrough. The headset uses a custom micro-OLED panel and a hybrid waveguide to balance field-of-view with compactness, positioning it for workflows like 3D layout, virtual prototyping, and mixed-reality design review.
The Series C was led by Atlas Capital with participation from strategic retail and enterprise partners. Lumen plans to expand its developer grants, seed software partners to optimize for the headset, and open a designer tooling SDK to encourage native apps for virtual collaboration.
Retail pricing and pre-order windows were announced, with early units shipping to select design studios and AR/VR labs later this year. Lumen stressed color fidelity and reduced chromatic aberration as key differentiators for creatives who need precise visual references in AR workflows.
