LumenAI launches real-time design assistant for Figma, closes $28M Series A

LumenAI today launched a real-time design assistant plugin for Figma that converts plain-language prompts into responsive UI components, complete with accessibility annotations and tokenized styling. The company demonstrated the tool generating production-ready headers, forms and dashboard widgets that adapt to design systems and generate corresponding CSS and design tokens.
Alongside the product release, LumenAI disclosed a $28 million Series A round led by Aurora Ventures with participation from Helix Partners and a group of angel designers and engineering leads. LumenAI says the capital will be used to expand their model training on proprietary component libraries and to integrate with enterprise design systems and versioning tools.
Design teams in early access report faster iteration cycles and fewer handoffs between design and engineering. LumenAI’s founders emphasize that the assistant is focused on augmenting human designers — offering variants, accessibility checks, and code exports — while allowing teams to lock tokens and components into existing workflows.
