LumenXR debuts portable AR lightfield headset with developer SDK, raises $45M

LumenXR’s prototype uses layered micro-optics and real-time eye-tracking to render multiple focal planes and reduce vergence-accommodation conflict. The company claims the approach improves long-duration comfort compared to single-plane AR devices.
A developer SDK supports volumetric assets, occlusion-aware rendering and low-latency pass-through for mixed-reality workflows. LumenXR is partnering with industrial training firms to pilot hands-on maintenance scenarios before broader release.
The new capital will accelerate certification, tooling for scale production and a dedicated enterprise services arm for deployment. Strategic investors include an industrial automation conglomerate partnering on training content.
