Lumina Health Raises $30M to Launch AI-Powered Rehab Companion with Real-Time Motion Feedback

Lumina Health announced $30 million in funding to commercialize an AI rehab companion that delivers real-time motion feedback and adaptive exercise programs for physical therapy patients.

The system uses lightweight IMU wearables and computer vision to track movement quality, offering on-device corrections and a therapist dashboard for asynchronous monitoring. Algorithms score movement fidelity and suggest progression when patients demonstrate competence.

Pilot trials with outpatient clinics showed higher adherence and improved functional outcomes versus standard home exercise programs. Therapists can annotate sessions, schedule telehealth check-ins, and export compliance reports for payers.

Funding will expand clinical validation, pursue regulatory clearances in target markets, and scale partnerships with hospital systems and insurers. Lumina also plans a B2C consumer tier later next year.
