LuminaAI launches real-time video editing API with $85M Series B
AI · 5 min read
LuminaAI today launched a real-time video editing API designed to let streaming platforms and social apps apply compositing, color grading, and generative overlays with sub-second latency. The API supports adaptive resolution pipelines, GPU-accelerated filters, and pretrained models for background replacement and on-the-fly motion tracking. The company emphasizes edge deployment and a pay-as-you-go model targeted at developers integrating live production features.
Alongside the product launch, LuminaAI announced an $85 million Series B led by Orion Capital with participation from Motion Ventures and existing investors. The funds will go toward scaling edge infrastructure, expanding SDKs for mobile and web, and growing the company's partnerships with CDNs and streaming providers. LuminaAI also said it will open a developer beta for platform partners next month.
Design and developer teams commented that the combination of real-time capabilities and a straightforward API could shift how live content is produced, reducing reliance on expensive on-premise hardware. LuminaAI plans to publish latency benchmarks and sample integration blueprints to accelerate adoption in esports, live shopping, and virtual events.
