Maze adds AI-run usability tests that generate prioritized insights and task-specific scripts
Design · 3 min read
Maze's new feature automates elements of usability testing by creating task scripts, recruiting participants via integrated panels, and running sessions that the system automatically annotates. The AI synthesizes results into a prioritized insights report, linking issues to specific screens, participant quotes, and severity ratings.
For moderated sessions, the system generates interviewer prompts tailored to the test's goals and adapts follow-ups based on participant behavior. Maze also exports artifact links—prototype frames, heatmaps, and transcripts—so designers and PMs can dive into raw data if desired.
The company emphasizes human oversight: generated insights are meant to accelerate analysis, not replace researchers. Early adopters report significantly reduced turnaround times between prototype creation and actionable findings, particularly for small teams with limited UX research budgets.
