MedPrompt Labs raises $40M to launch clinical AI copilot
AI · 6 min read
MedPrompt Labs announced a $40 million Series A led by HealthWave Partners and launched its clinical copilot for hospitals and outpatient clinics. The product integrates with EHRs and uses a medically grounded retrieval system plus guarded generation layers that attach evidence and source links to every recommendation.
The copilot offers note drafting, diagnostic suggestions, and treatment-plan templates that clinicians can accept, edit, or reject. MedPrompt has implemented a workflow that logs clinician overrides to retrain models and improve suggestions while maintaining audit trails necessary for clinical governance.
Pilot deployments at two regional health systems reported time savings on documentation and faster triage in emergency departments. MedPrompt plans to pursue FDA software attestations and expanded interoperability connectors in the coming year.
