Meta launches Spark AR 5 with LLM-driven effect generation
AI · 4 min read
Meta released Spark AR 5, which integrates a lightweight LLM to help creators generate AR effect templates from plain-language prompts. Users can request things like “a beach light filter with animated shells” and receive a starting patch graph and assets.
The new visual scripting layer converts the LLM’s output into editable AR patches and exposes parameters for motion, physics, and gesture interactivity. Spark AR 5 also supports one-click export to Instagram and enhanced device performance previews.
Meta highlights that the LLM runs on Meta’s servers with optional on-device inference for approved enterprise workflows. The company emphasizes moderation tools and templates to prevent misuse and encourage safe effect design.
