Meta releases Llama-Designer: a foundation model fine-tuned for UI copy and microcopy generation

Llama-Designer is fine-tuned on a curated corpus of product writing, style guides, and usability-tested microcopy. It supports instructions like 'generate error text at 90 characters with empathetic tone' and produces multiple alternatives ranked by clarity and brevity.

One notable capability is context-aware suggestions: given a UI state and user persona, the model recommends copy tailored to the user’s familiarity and cognitive load. This helps product teams rapidly iterate messages across internationalization and accessibility constraints.

Meta is releasing Llama-Designer under a developer license with plugins for common design platforms. They stressed responsible use and included guardrails to reduce misleading or manipulative phrasing in user-facing text.
