Meta updates Horizon Home for Quest with native desktop streaming and spatial office tools

Horizon Home now supports native desktop streaming from Mac and Windows without third-party apps, reducing latency and enabling higher-fidelity text rendering and gesture passthrough. This makes it easier to use traditional productivity apps inside Quest's spatial environment.
Meta also launched a spatial office toolkit for arranging multiple virtual monitors, pinned web apps, and collaborative whiteboards that persist across sessions. The toolkit supports high-resolution readouts and pointer sharing to facilitate real-time collaboration between headset users and desktop participants.
Privacy and performance are emphases: Meta added per-app streaming controls and hardware-accelerated encoding profiles tuned for sustained work sessions. Early testers in game development and remote design teams say the improvements reduce friction when combining VR prototyping with standard desktop workflows.
