MetaCore open-sources LumaFrame, a 3D-aware layout model for product mockups

LumaFrame accepts a flat UI layout and device parameters then composites the UI into photorealistic device renders while preserving layer geometry, lighting, and reflections. It uses a 3D-aware training pipeline that learns device surfaces and camera transforms from paired photorealistic datasets.

Because LumaFrame is released as open source, teams can run the model locally and integrate it into asset pipelines for marketing, documentation, and onboarding. The MetaCore team included bindings for popular design tools and command-line utilities for batch rendering.

The project includes pre-built device libraries and a plugin ecosystem for custom device skins or brand-specific photography styles. Contributors are already discussing downstream integrations, like automated product screenshots for app store listings.
