Microsoft Designer adds 'Code-First Export' and model-tuning for enterprise themes

Code-First Export can output component scaffolds tailored to Angular, React, and Blazor, including style tokens and a mapping to Microsoft Fluent where applicable. The export attempts to be minimal and pragmatic, offering a clear handoff rather than fully productionized code.

Enterprise model-tuning allows IT and design ops teams to upload brand guides and component libraries to bias the generation model toward corporate themes and constraints. Microsoft says this reduces manual cleanup and maintains visual consistency across products while keeping data in tenant-controlled storage.

Some enterprises welcomed the tighter governance but asked for clearer audit logs showing how models used uploaded themes during generation. Microsoft said it will add provenance metadata and versioned policy controls to Designer in upcoming releases.
