Microsoft Designer adds Real-Time CoCreate for collaborative, multiplayer design sessions

Real-Time CoCreate synchronizes edits from multiple users while an AI assistant suggests variations, color palettes, and layout changes in a shared session. Participants can pin and vote on suggestions, with the AI learning team preferences over the course of a project to reduce irrelevant recommendations.

A notable capability is session provenance: the platform records which user accepted which AI suggestion and attaches metadata for audit and IP tracking. This helps teams manage attribution and makes it easier to revert individual decisions without disrupting the entire file.

Microsoft is positioning CoCreate as a tool for creative agencies and enterprise teams that require collaborative iteration. The company integrates the feature with Teams for synchronous workshops and offers enterprise controls to restrict external sharing during live sessions.
