Microsoft DesignerCopilot v2 tightens integration with Figma and Adobe via open plugin APIs
Tech ยท 5 min read
DesignerCopilot v2 can fetch design tokens and component libraries from Figma or Adobe libraries, then generate assets and copy that adhere to brand rules. It exposes governance features like pre-flight checks for contrast, token usage and legal review flags before assets are committed to shared libraries.
Microsoft also launched open plugin APIs allowing third-party design and DAM systems to hook into the copilot. This helps organizations that have a heterogeneous tooling landscape maintain consistent AI-driven workflows and centrally enforce policies.
The update adds analytics dashboards showing how AI suggestions are accepted or edited, helping design ops teams tune prompt templates and governance settings. Customers in regulated industries welcomed the governance features; freelancers and small teams appreciated the cross-platform convenience.
