Midjourney adds Grid-to-Vector workflow for rapid UI exploration

The Grid-to-Vector tool processes a selected grid image, segments UI regions, and reconstructs them as separate vector layers with suggested layer names and semantic roles. Designers can select candidate cells and merge or split layers before exporting to Figma or SVG.

Midjourney emphasized a careful balance between automation and manual control, offering a refinement mode that uses user edits to re-run vectorization with improved segmentation. The company also introduced an API endpoint for prototype-to-vector conversion so vendors can include the capability in their apps.

The feature is part of Midjourney’s paid tiers, and the company announced partnerships with several plugin authors to provide direct imports into major design tools. Midjourney noted that the vector outputs are optimized for rapid iteration rather than production-level precision.
