Midjourney v7 adds UI-first features: component layouts, icon families, and export presets
AI · 4 min read
Version 7 introduces continuity controls so designers can generate cohesive component families (buttons, inputs, alerts) that share aesthetic decisions like stroke, shadow, and corner radius. Midjourney also added layout-aware seeds that produce multi-component canvases aligned on grids.
Export presets enable images to be delivered as layered PSDs or annotated PNGs with suggested CSS properties, easing handoff to developers. The update is paired with improved style tokens and a UI prompt assistant that recommends parameter adjustments for platform-consistent results.
Designers appreciated the less exploratory, more deterministic output that suits iterative product work, though the company warned that some complex branding elements still require manual iteration. Midjourney plans further refinement of export fidelity later this year.
