V7 includes layout conditioning so prompts that reference grids, columns, or specific aspect ratios yield outputs that respect those constraints. The model better distinguishes foreground elements from background decoration and can output layered PSDs or grouped PNGs for faster refinement.

MidJourney also improved style consistency across multi-image outputs, helping designers generate coherent concept families for mood boards and iterative ideation. The company added toolkit options for designers to nudge color palettes and typography styles without fully retargeting the output.

While still a creative exploration tool rather than a production system, V7 is increasingly used by concept teams to speed up visual exploration. MidJourney announced partnerships with several asset marketplaces to facilitate licensing and reuse of generated assets.
