MiraSense raises $45M to debut depth-aware camera module for AR devices

MiraSense announced a $45 million Series B and the launch of a depth-aware camera module optimized for small form-factor AR headsets. The module combines active IR sensing with neural depth refinement to deliver low-noise point clouds at interactive frame rates.

Designed for integration into headsets and handheld devices, MiraSense's module reduces calibration complexity and handles challenging surfaces like glass and textiles. The company also released SDKs that expose depth data streams with latency guarantees for spatial mapping and occlusion.

The funding will expand manufacturing lines, invest in on-device depth inference models, and pursue partnerships with chipset vendors. OEMs evaluating spatial computing prototypes cited the module's simplicity and reliability as key benefits.
