MirrorPlay raises $21M to launch CrossPlay SDK enabling cross-device save states in cloud gaming

CrossPlay SDK provides deterministic snapshotting and incremental state synchronization so players can switch devices mid-session without losing progress. It handles physics state, player inventories, and session continuity across cloud and local clients.

The $21 million seed extension was led by GameFoundry, with studio partners contributing to the feature roadmap. MirrorPlay emphasized low-bandwidth delta syncs and encryption of saved state for anti-cheat and privacy compliance.

Studios integrating CrossPlay can offer true cross-device continuity—for example, moving from a couch console to a phone mid-match—without complex custom code. MirrorPlay includes testing tools to validate rewinding and rehydration across network conditions.

The company plans monetization via per-user subscriptions for cloud sync and a per-deployment license for larger publishers. MirrorPlay believes frictionless device switching will be a competitive feature in next-gen live-service titles.
