Modo Studio raises $14M to launch 'MoodBoard AI', a creative direction assistant for agencies

Modo Studio closed a $14 million seed-plus round and introduced MoodBoard AI, which auto-curates visual directions, color studies, and type pairings from a short creative brief and a brand palette. The tool returns mood boards, suggested photography styles, and layout sketches to jumpstart creative sprints.

Modo positioned MoodBoard AI as a collaborative starting point — designers can iterate on generated boards, lock elements into a brand kit, and export to popular design tools. The product also supports client-facing presentation modes that translate visual studies into rationale and usage guidelines.

The investment will be used to expand template libraries, integrate brand governance features, and build enterprise security. Agencies and in-house design leads could use MoodBoard AI to compress discovery cycles and align stakeholders earlier in the ideation process.
