Monolith Labs raises $95M to commercialize deterministic physics for next-gen AAA titles

Monolith Labs unveiled ForgePhysics, a physics engine built for reproducibility, rollback features, and deterministic behavior across distributed servers. ForgePhysics focuses on synchronized competitive experiences where desyncs cause gameplay issues, and offers tools for rollback netcode, state snapshots, and deterministic random streams.
The $95 million funding, led by Benchmark and with backing from several AAA publishers, will be used to speed up middleware integration, extend platform support, and create a managed hosting option for studios that prefer turn-key physics infrastructure. Monolith emphasized ForgePhysics' ability to scale large worlds while maintaining consistency across instances.
Several studios reported that ForgePhysics reduced desync incidents in early tests and simplified server-authoritative architectures. The company plans to offer plugins for popular engines and create a certification program for middleware partners.
