Morpho UI debuts design system automation tool with $12M seed

Morpho UI today released a design system automation product that ingests existing UI code, sketches, and style guides to output a structured design system with tokens, component code scaffolding, and an accessibility checklist. The system uses heuristics and ML to infer token relationships and generate theme variants.
The company closed a $12 million seed round led by Signal Partners, with participation from several design-led VC firms and early product design angels. Funding will be used to expand language support for React, Vue, and SwiftUI components, and to add enterprise-grade governance features.
Morpho UI's early testers report significant reduction in the time it takes to formalize component libraries and align product teams on tokens. The startup plans to offer a hosted service with role-based access for design ops, and an on-prem option for highly regulated customers.
