MosaicXR launches lightweight AR authoring tool for museums with $6M seed
Design · 3 min read
MosaicXR announced a seed raise of $6 million and launched an authoring tool that lets museums and galleries create AR tours using a visual timeline and markerless anchoring. Curators can place multimedia hotspots, record narration, and set conditional branching for interactive experiences.
The company optimized its engine for visitor devices to ensure consistent performance and battery efficiency, and offers a web-based player that requires no app install. MosaicXR also supports analytics for dwell time and interaction patterns, helping institutions measure engagement.
Seed funds will go toward partnerships with cultural associations, building a content marketplace, and deploying pilot programs in five regional museums later this year. MosaicXR emphasizes accessibility features like audio descriptions and adjustable text sizes.
