Nebula Games Raises $50M to Build Cloud-Native Indie Studio Focused on Episodic Worlds

Nebula Games announced a $50 million capital injection to create narrative-driven, episodic titles designed for cloud delivery. The studio’s roadmap includes a slate of 2–3-year projects that leverage server-side logic to enable persistent world changes and cross-session continuity.
Their first project, currently in closed alpha, uses a modular content pipeline that swaps assets and story beats server-side, allowing developers to iterate live without forcing downloads. Nebula says this approach improves retention and allows for more experimental episodic mechanics.
Investors cited the convergence of streaming infrastructure and player demand for live, evolving narratives as a key market opportunity. Nebula plans to expand its team across design, live-ops, and cloud engineering, with hiring starting immediately in three cities.
