Nebula Games secures $180M to launch Arcadia, an OpenWorld-as-a-Service platform for studios

Arcadia provides a managed backend for persistent worlds, including spatial instancing, cross-title item economies, and federated player identity, aiming to remove the heavy operational cost of running open-world live services. Nebula Games also offers content pipelines and streaming tools to help titles scale globally without rebuilding core infrastructure.
The $180 million round will fund expansive cloud infrastructure, studio outreach, and revenue-sharing experiments with partner studios. Nebula Games said three unnamed AAA studios have already signed multi-year pilots to use Arcadia for upcoming titles, citing the platform's promise to shorten time-to-live-ops and centralize monetization across portfolios.
Arcadia also includes moderation tooling and a marketplace SDK for player-created content. Nebula plans to open a limited developer preview this quarter and expects to move into production with pilot partners in early 2027.
