Nebula Labs Launches LightVR: A Lightweight Headset Targeting Designers
Tech ยท 5 min read
Nebula Labs unveiled LightVR, a standalone headset that prioritizes comfort, color fidelity, and quick prototyping over high-end gaming specs. Priced at $379, LightVR targets designers and product teams that need an accessible device for spatial UX reviews and client walkthroughs.
The headset runs a custom OS optimized for 3D asset streaming from common design tools and supports hand-tracking and a lightweight stylus. Nebula Labs is partnering with leading prototyping suites to deliver real-time collaborative sessions where stakeholders can annotate and iterate inside the scene.
Design agencies welcomed the price point, saying it allows more clients to join user testing and reduces logistics for in-person demos. Nebula Labs also announced a developer grant program to seed production-ready design templates for LightVR, signaling an intent to build both hardware and an ecosystem.
