Nebula Studios secures $200M to build cloud-native AAA game development platform

Nebula's offering bundles scalable GPU rendering, distributed asset pipelines, and a live collaboration layer that lets artists and engineers edit levels simultaneously in the cloud. The company says the platform reduces shipping friction by centralizing CI/CD for assets and builds, plus automated QA testing at scale.

Investors included a consortium of gaming publishers and cloud infrastructure funds. Nebula will use capital to expand data centers optimized for heavy media workloads, subsidize early adopter costs for large studios, and accelerate partnerships with middleware vendors.

Publishers in the round cited benefits for remote production and cross-studio collaboration on large IPs. Nebula plans to open APIs for tooling vendors while keeping core services proprietary to ensure performance and cross-project reuse of assets.
