Nebula Systems closed a $150 million growth round led by SoftBank and a consortium of strategic logistics partners to commercialize quantum-inspired optimization software. The company’s cloud service claims to solve large-scale vehicle routing and scheduling problems faster than classical heuristics by leveraging specialized hardware and hybrid algorithms.
The platform offers APIs for fleet optimization, dynamic re-routing, and demand forecasting with a focus on near-real-time decisions for large carriers. Nebula will offer managed deployments and integration support for logistics providers seeking immediate operational gains.
Funds will be used to expand data center capacity, integrate with telemetry providers, and build vertical solutions for shipping, e-commerce fulfillment, and urban delivery. Nebula also announced pilot programs with two major parcel carriers.
Experts caution that “quantum-inspired” solutions can vary widely in benefit depending on problem shape and constraints, but note that logistics companies facing intense margin pressure are eager to experiment. If Nebula can deliver measurable cost savings at scale, adoption could accelerate rapidly.
