New AI Plugin Enforces Inclusive Language in Design Systems

The plugin, called InclusiveCopy, uses a fine-tuned LLM to evaluate microcopy, error messages, and helper text stored as design tokens. It flags phrasing that could marginalize users and offers variant suggestions ranked by estimated impact and localization effort, helping design system maintainers reduce remediation time.

InclusiveCopy connects to version control and CI so teams can block token merges that introduce regressive language, or allow auto-suggested fixes as part of pull requests. The vendor also provides a governance dashboard where product, legal, and localization teams can approve or customize policy rules.

Early trials with three mid-sized product teams showed a 70 percent reduction in controversial phrasing reaching production and a smoother handoff to localization teams. The plugin's creators highlighted that it is not a replacement for human review but a way to scale guardrails in distributed design systems.
