Nexa Studios Launches Echo Rift—A VR Title with Advanced Haptics Partnership

Nexa Studios’ Echo Rift is a VR release that leverages high-fidelity haptics to deliver tactile puzzles and environmental feedback. The studio partnered with Haptify to synchronize complex haptic cues—directional vibrations, pressure waves, and micro-actuations—with in-game events for more convincing physicality.

The game’s design centers on touch-based mechanics, where players solve spatial puzzles by feeling surface textures and forces. Nexa also released a reduced-haptics mode for standard controllers, but asserts the full experience is best with supported haptic hardware.

Studio director Jonas Kwan said the release is an experiment in embodiment and accessibility; Echo Rift includes audio and visual alternatives for haptic cues. Nexa plans to continue streaming haptic APIs to encourage middleware integration and third-party hardware support.
